The Sixth Symphony is “more the expression of feeling than painting.”
– Beethoven
Beethoven loved nature and brought all the sounds of the countryside to his majestic Sixth Symphony. Guest conductor Roderick Cox leads the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra through Beethoven’s “Pastoral” Symphony, where you’ll hear the calls of birds near a brook, a peasant’s dance, and even a thunderstorm.
The program also presents Concierto de Aranjuez by composer Joaquín Rodrigo and featuring guest artist Artyom Dervoed on guitar, plus Prokofiev’s “Classical” Symphony No. 1, which takes you back to the Viennese Classicism of Haydn and Mozart.
