FORT WORTH _ Last weekend the Vaqueros took on their newest rival, the Denton Diablos, however, this weekend the Vaqueros’ oldest rival heads to Farrington Field.
Dallas City FC (1-2-1, 4 points) returns to NPSL Lone Star Conference play with a 7 p.m. match against Fort Worth (3-0, 9 points).
The two clubs formed the Trinity River Cup derby in 2014, the Vaqueros’ first in history. However, Dallas City took a hiatus last season before thankfully returning to action again this season.
“Dallas City FC provided a natural rival for us in our first season so of course we were thrilled when we learned last year that the club was returning to NPSL play after the short time off,” Vaqueros general manager Tobias Xavier Lopez said.
The Vaqueros family will receive a FREE commemorative poster while supplies last for the Dallas match, the third of this season’s series.
