Grand opening set May 20 at Rockwood Park Golf Course’s New Clubhouse

Rockwood Park Golf Course’s clubhouse grand opening is scheduled for 10 a.m. May 20.

The public is invited.

The original Rockwood Park Golf Course was opened for play in 1938. It was designed by golf course architect John Bredemus, with subsequent upgrades by golf course architect Ralph Plummer. Beginning in November 2015, the course underwent a $5.1 million renovation led by the design team of John Colligan and associate Trey Kemp.

The renovation included a new routing plan with new greens, tees, fairways, bunkering system, drainage and cart paths.

The course was lengthened to play up to 7,053 yards.

While the recent renovation greatly improved the course, the addition of a new clubhouse undoubtedly makes it one of the best municipal golf facilities in North Texas.

The new $7.7 million clubhouse was funded by the 2018 City of Fort Worth bond program.

The design was led by Elements of Architecture and construction was led by RJM Contractors.

The 16,379 square-foot building contains an upper level featuring a pro shop, grill, dining area, restrooms and a multipurpose room.

The lower level houses convenient cart storage and repairs.

The upgraded maintenance facility includes new staff areas, added security and building improvements.

Rockwood Park Golf Course is at 1851 Jacksboro Hwy.
