Grammy-nominated Midland took the stage on Saturday night at Billy Bob’s Texas for the second night of consecutive sold-out shows of its ‘Road to the Rodeo Tour’ for an evening that would include the band’s mega-hits like “Drinkin’ Problem” and “Burn Out” and covers like Jerry Reed’s “Eastbound and Down” and they could do no wrong for the thousands of fans on hand.

The legendary Fort Worth venue known as “The World’s Largest Honky Tonk” provided the perfect backdrop as the traditional tables set up by the main stage were moved in favor of the “Pit” setup featuring standing room only and undoubtedly allowing for more fans to get an up close view of the popular band.

Midland, led by Mark Wystrach, Cameron Duddy and Jess Carson, has become the hottest ticket in town when they make their annual visit to Fort Worth. The question is not if the show will sell out, but only how long will it take to sell out.

The night got underway with the announcement that Billy Bob’s and Midland teamed up and $1 of each ticket purchased was being donated to ACM’s Lifting Lives Charity, the philanthropic arm of the Academy of Country Music dedicated to improving lives through the power of music.

When the stage lights went down, the neon lights started to flash and Midland took the stage to the familiar tune “Playboys,” the crowd began singing in unison through “Cheating Songs,” “Fast Hearts in Slow Towns” and “Mr. Lonely” and essentially did not stop until the night came to a close.

We had a great vantage point for the show from the VIP section to the front right of the stage. Among those in the coveted locale was Ashli W., 24, from Dallas, a self-professed Midland super fan.

“A group of us actually came to the concert last night, too,” Ashli volunteered. “I have seen Midland over 20 times and they always put on a great show! Another group of friends and I are also going down to Houston to see their concert on Tuesday night! I love them!”

Judging by the massive crowd’s reactions during and after the show, she is not the only one who loves Midland.
