American Airlines Center – 10.11.19
The Mavs fans got a glimpse of the New Generation (Post-Dirk) Friday night as the Mavs hosted the Bucks for the first home preseason game of the year.
It’s not going to be the same without Dirk, but it’s going to be exciting with Kristaps Porzingas and Luka Dončić on the floor together. Porzingas scored 11 points going 4-of-13 and had 5 rebounds in his 24 minutes of play. Dončić had a great outing, putting up 27 points and going 6-of-13 with 7 rebounds in his 23 minutes on the floor. Boban Marjanović had a strong showing coming off the bench with 8 rebounds and 16 points in 16 minutes of play.
But the Bucks and Giannis Antetokoumpo’s 34 points was too much for the Mavs as their comeback fell short, losing 118 – 111. The Mavs have 3 more preseason games to get it in sync.
The regular season home opener is Wed, 10/23 against the Wizards.
