The Place: Fort Brewery and Pizza, formerly Zio Carlo’s and Chimera Brewing Co., located at 1001 W Magnolia Ave.
The Menu: With 13 pizzas to chose from, and the option to create your own, the possibilities are endless. The homemade Italian-style pizza has a thin and crunchy crust and a tangy sauce. Whether you want a classic like plain cheese($7 personal/$13 full), or want to get your fix with ‘Vegan’ Rehab ($9/$18), which is a play on a meat-lovers pizza, they’ll have something for you. Gluten-free dough and vegan cheese are available by request. They also offer salads, sandwiches, and calzones.
The Brews: They have 7 brews that are made on site. All $5. Their most popular brew right now? The Honey Badger, which is their Brew Master Charles Coca’s baby. Made with thirty pounds of local honey, it is the perfect combination of sweet and bitter.
The Hours: 11 a.m. through 10 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. through 10 p.m. Friday, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. Parking behind the building doesn’t open until after 5 p.m. during the week, but there is plenty of space around the building for easy access.
Overall: If there are two things that bring people together like no other, it’s beer and pizza. Fort Brewery is bringing those together in a causal setting to create the dining experience everybody craves—and we don’t mean just the food. From their lunch special to their specialty beers and weekday Happy Hour, there is something for everybody.
